# Pricing and billing

> What Aura costs, $1 a month per bot and 2¢ per AI-answered conversation plus the AI's own cost, and how it's paid from your OneInfer credits.

In all, 1,000 conversations a month cost about $21 to $38, and about $25 on the model we recommend.

### What counts as a conversation

One chat in which the AI answered the visitor at least once. A long back-and-forth still counts as one. Chats only your team answered, and the bot's "I'm not sure" replies, are free.

### The AI's own cost

Each bot's **Model** step shows what 1,000 conversations a month would cost on each model, so you can choose with the numbers in front of you. The recommended model costs about $4.50 for 1,000. Voice, calls and [AI insights](https://aura.oneinfer.ai/docs/insights#ai-insights) are also paid at OneInfer's prices, with no Aura fee on voice.

## How you pay

Everything is paid from your OneInfer balance, which you top up in the [OneInfer console](https://oneinfer.ai). In an organisation's workspace, the organisation's credits pay.

- **A bot's month** is taken when you create it, then every 30 days while it's on.
- **Conversation fees** are taken once a day, for the day before.
- **The AI's cost** is taken as the AI is used.

## Pause, delete and free slots

- **A paused bot costs nothing.** Turn it off under **On or off** in **Go live**. Turning it back on after its month ended starts a new month.
- **Deleting a bot** gives what's left of its month to your next bot: the next bot you create before that month ends costs nothing until it does. There's no refund.

## If your balance runs low

- **A bot's month can't be taken:** the bot shows a warning, and it's paused after 7 days unless you add credits.
- **Out of credits for the AI:** the bot sends its fallback message instead of answering, and offers your team.
- **Conversation fees can't be taken:** they're taken as soon as you add credits.
